Anaphylaxis management and EpiPen use (OHT002)


Description
Our anaphylaxis course is a must for staff looking after vulnerable clients. Our course structure is from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) Action Plans. Allergic reactions affect up to 1 in 5 Australians.

Learning outcome:

-Recognise, treat and manage a severe life-threatening allergic reaction
-develop risk minimisation plans, anaphylaxis policies and communication plans
-Differences between an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis
-Identify the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
-Management of anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
-Correct use of auto-injector device (adrenaline)
-Recognise at-risk individuals of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
